Security Warning
Scam Alert — We’ve got your back
We know how upsetting it is when someone tries to take advantage of your trust. At Hard Hats United, your safety and confidence matter to us. Scammers sometimes use the names of real organizations to trick people. Here’s how to spot fraud and protect yourself.
What we will never do
- Ask you to send money or make donations outside of our official campaigns listed on our website.
- Offer unsolicited investment opportunities, job offers, or financial schemes.
- Ask new hires to pay any fees before they start work.
Job-seeker warning
We do not recruit through private social apps (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, etc.). Any job or visa offer that requires payment, or that comes with suspicious documents, fake websites, or unusual contact details is almost certainly a scam. If you’re asked to pay, don’t respond.
If you see something suspicious
Verify the message by contacting us directly. Never send money or share sensitive personal information with unverified contacts. Trust your instincts — if it feels off, it probably is.
Report It
If you encounter fraud using our name, please report it to the authorities, the Federal Trade Commission in the U.S. or the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre (antifraudcentre-centreantifraude.ca) in Canada.
We cannot be held responsible for scams carried out without our knowledge or consent. If you’re unsure about a message or offer, reach out to us. We’ll help you confirm what’s real. Your safety matters to all of us at Hard Hats United.
